Bluffton United Methodist Men

We are the BUMM's

Join us monthly for fellowship, breakfast, and a devotion dedicated to serving Christ in our personal lives and in the Bluffton community.
BUMMs meeting on 9/6/2008
We had another successful Pecan season in 2010 which helped fund the gifts to many of the charities  which the BUMMs support.  The information remains here so you can prepare to support the effort again in 2011.

BUMMS support UMCOR

The BUMMs sponsored a Pancake Breakfast in April.  The congregation ate a ton of pancakes and as a result, the BUMMS were able to contribute $420 to UMCOR in support of the earthquake disaster in Japan.  Our thanks to all who supported this event.

2011 Scholarship Award

Alex Ulmer, president, presented a  scholarship check in the amount of $500 to Bailey Davis on behalf of the Bluffton United Methodist Men's Club (BUMMS).  This scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior who is affiliated with our church and is enrolled in a college or university for the fall semester.  Bailey will be attending the University of South Carolina in the fall where she plans to major in international business.  She eventually hopes to secure a degree in architecture and "travel the world managing and designing projects".  Bailey is the daughter of Chris and Tamara Davis.

Apprentice for Jesus
The purpose of this program is to assist widows, widowers, and elderly of our church who  need assistance in light home chores.  Examples of light home chores could be replacement of security batteries, sprinkler systems, light bulb replacement, etc.
If you are able or desire to show your appreciation for the work done, a donation may be made to the Bluffton United Methodist Men.       Donations will be distributed to one of our mission support organizations.  Make checks to BUMM with "Apprentice for Jesus" in the memo line.
Contact Russ Rymer if you need assistance or have talents that can be used in this outreach program.  email:  rjrymer@hargray.com or phone 298-6566

Bluffton United Methodist Men (BUMM)
We meet the first Saturday morning of each month (except July/August) at 7:29 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

All men and guests are invited for fellowship, breakfast, and a devotion in service to Christ. We have assisted in disaster relief efforts and other local and national projects. We are now officially affiliated with the worldwide United Methodist Men organization.

At our monthly meetings, we enjoy a fine "High C" breakfast, devotions, business, fellowship and humor. There are no fees for membership, but a donation of $5.00 or more (suggested) at each breakfast helps pay our food bill at Piggly Wiggly. Remaining dollars are used for booth supplies at our various fund-raisers.

Objectives

We will improve our personal relationships with God through devotions and sharing. We will improve our community and church through a spirit of fellowship and service.

Goals
To improve ourselves through fellowship and devotionals that we may better serve our Lord, our Church and our community.

Projects
We contribute  annually to Bluffton Self-Help, Bluffton Boys & Girls Club, Beaufort Council on Aging, Bluffton Meals on Wheels, and BUMC Youth.
